Moscow-İstanbul Relations in the Light of Archival Documents Between XVth-XVIIIth Centuries

The exhibition called “Moscow-İstanbul Relations in the Light of Archival Documents Between XVth-XVIIIth Centuries” which cooperatively organized by the General Directorate of State Archives of the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey and the Federal Archival Agency of Russian Federation (Rosarkhiv) was opened in Moscow, the capital of Russia, on September 3, 2015.

In the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Assoc. Prof. Uğur Ünal, Director General of the State Archives, Mr. Andrei N. Artizov, Director General of the Federal Archival Agency of Russia, Mr. Cenk URAZ, Temporary Charge d'affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow, Mr. Andrey Buravovun, Deputy Director of the 4th European Department of Foreign Ministry of Russia addressed. Many guests, historians and Turcologists attended the ceremony. The exhibition titled “Archival Documents on the History of Moscow-İstanbul Relations” was organized on June 9, 2015 in İstanbul.

Documents including correspondence on various issues, firmans and letters of credence revealed the political relations between two countries as well as the cultural, economic, religious, military relations between İstanbul and Moscow.  The exhibition catalogue which includes a total number of 150 documents, illustrations and maps was presented to the participants.

The exhibition can be visited in Moscow between 4-20 September (except Mondays and Tuesdays).
